Again "S" class repeats - they advanced to the new
standard 55 degrees elevation 4.5" DP Gun, and had a
stabilised Mark 1K HA/LA director, with RPC, in that the guns
trained and elevated with the director. Short lattice masts were
shipped in the first three, and taller ones in the last 5.
They were 120 tons overweight, so had reduced light AA armament
to compensate; singles replacing the twins aft of the funnels, in
all but Zambesi.
RDF fit was the same as the previous class, but instead carried
the new AW type 293.
