Generally repeats of the "Z" class, these ships adopted "C" name prefixes because there were few of that class, and no flotilla structure left. "P", "R", "S" and "T" names were originally chosen to fill holes in those flotillas, but soon changed to "Ca-" names.
Due to the usual wartime supply problems with HA/LA.DCTs, these ships originally carried makeshift, undirected light AA armaments, and Mk.III directors, instead of the designed Mk.VI, and the designed AA armament was only installed later.
